SAFARI Montage                                                                                1/2016 – current

Project Manager/Systems Eng.

Onsite project management of on of SAFARI Montage’s largest key client (Gwinnett County, GA)

  • Project managed the integration of SAFARI Montage Learning Object Repository with Gwinnett County’s educational environment.  (178,000 students, 8000 staff).
  • Integration with LMS system Brightspace (D2L, Desire2Learn).
  • Integration with Destiny Library Management System.
  • Developed processes and procedures to move hot-fixes, patches, and revisions through the Development, Testing and Production environments.

Contracted to provide strategic and operational consulting services for educational publishing start-up firm.

Managed company expansion from 40 staff/ $14M revenue to over 250 staff/ $98M revenue.                                                                                       

Program management, operations, installation service, and corporate strategy, bid team/RFP response, information systems, and legal: over 170 direct/indirect reports of 250 employees.

  • Program Management Officer who managed two project managers and a project coordinator.
  • Managed projects and relationships on-site with key customers; many simultaneous projects ranging from $2M-30M. Client liaison and ultimate project issue resolution decision maker.
  • Managed multiple projects teams of up to 80 employees and contractors
  • Negotiated, developed and responsible for Service Level Agreements with large projects, including after project continuing support.
  • Reviewed all legal contracts including business contracts, vendor contracts, and customer contracts.
  • Recruited, trained, and established a highly productive and committed bids team. Grew responses from 20-30 per year, to 120 per year in 2010 and over 200 responses in 2012.
  • Managed OEM product development, negotiations, design, manufacturing, and production process of two major product lines.
  • Managed process review of the accounting and sales order systems (SAP) which resulted in a redesign of processes and implementation of Dynamics ERP system.
  • Applied continuous process review to revise Logistical Deployment department, capitalize on economies, and improve workflow. Assisted in cost analysis to maximize return on fixed-price process.
  • Initiated, implemented, and managed purchasing web portal for online Business-to-Business, Business-to-Education, and Business-to-Government engagement strategy.
  • Identified and capitalized on new growth opportunities. Through market analysis, brand development expertise and business acumen, developed and implemented strategies that increased product awareness, market share, and profitability. Expedited processes and developed patented technical solutions to facilitate government-approved installation of our product.

KPMG Canada                                                                                            1990–1999

Director of Information Technology – West Region

Managed West Region technology requirements in an advanced technological environment. Reported directly to the KPMG Canada Chief Information Officer. Negotiated with senior executives and partners to recommend, design, and implement technical solutions to business needs.

  • Managed an operational budget of $4.3 million per year.
  • Hired, coached, evaluated and supervised 19 employees in Research and Development, Implementation, Project Management and End User Support.
  • Negotiated and secured vendor agreements for the purchase and leasing of technical services, office equipment, service contracts and supplies.
  • Project managed the migration of computers from MS Windows 3.1 to Windows 95 desktop operating systems and implemented the conversion from Apple Macintosh to MS Windows desktop operating system.
  • Project managed and the lead technical resource for the development of Novell server infrastructure over 16 physical locations
  • Project managed the operations, upgrades, vendor negotiations, and service contracts of six Nortel PBX and Meridian voice mail systems.
  • Delivered business plans and budgets. Member of the Strategic and Operations Committee and the Emerging Technologies Committee.
